Welcome to Mrs. Myers-Binkowski's wonderful world of Math! Here you can find all kinds of resources to help with Math problems in your every day life as well as homework! Also links to fun math games, study island, and other exciting math sites are also included.
STUDENTS: *Remember your Friday Paper is always due on Friday unless otherwise noted. If you turn it in early you will get feedback and an opportunity to correct it for a better grade! *Quizzes of a D or below must be corrected during intervention or AA with Mrs. Myers-Binkowski to make sure you understand the concepts! Study Island Assignments: All students have specific study island assignments for Math. Please work towards getting a blue ribbon for each assignment. Remember the person from each grade with the most blue ribbons on assignments wins the big prize the last week of school! Digits Math: 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be using a new online Math program this year. Most of your homework will be online and with automatic feedback, homework help, and resources all at your fingertips! There will be lots of fun hands on technological activities that accompany these lessons. All students will have access to computer/internet to complete homework assignments at school as well if it is not available at home. To access and login to Digits follow this link: http://mymathuniverse.com/digitsSNP My Big Campus: My Big Campus is an online education network. Similar to Facebook, My Big Campus is a social media network for schools. This is another way to prepare students for a world filled with technology and how to utilize it with Math and the everyday classroom routine! Your student login is the same user name and password that you use to login on the computers at school. Typically assignments on My Big Campus will be given ahead of time in order to allow at least 1 week for students to access a computer. Pi Day: As a math teacher, one of my favorite holidays is Pi Day! Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th of every year. Pi is an irrational number that is used to represent the answer we get when we divide a circle's circumference (the distance around) by it's diameter (the distance across the middle). On Pi Day we explore the many mysteries that Pi has to offer complete with real pie and other circular food, a recitation contest, pi day raps, and interesting trivia contests. No bullies or mean words allowed!
